Hey, welcome to “Doing Wells,” the personal blog of M@ Wells – get it? I know – kinda cheesy…
My blogging journey began on January 1st, 2014 as “Keep Calm and Read a Psalm.” You can tell I have a knack for these cheesy titles.
In August of 2016, on the advice of some wise people (including Tim Challies), I decided to refocus my blog on a “niche” where I can speak somewhat authoritatively. I was cautioned not to speak to issues I know nothing about – which includes almost everything as a twenty-something.
So I was stuck with focusing this blog on the only thing that we millennials know anything about – media.
Simply defined, media is anything with a screen – a TV, smartphone, iPad – or anything on the screen – apps, social media, texting.
I have long been interested in media, but it became a focus when I was hired as a media assistant at BJU. Basically, I now get paid to be on Facebook and Twitter all day.
I don’t pretend to know everything about media. But I do know Someone who knows everything – and He is not silent when it comes to our current obsession with media. I hope to share His wisdom as we try to navigate this crazy “Age of Technology.”
I also have another blog – a collaboration with a friend called “The Church Accords.” There, I blog about my other passion – mentoring.
And so I leave you with one last bit of cheesiness – fare-wells!
