God of All Hope

Keep Calm and Read a Modern Psalm Based on Romans 15:13:

God of All Hope, You rescued me
From lusts that kept me chained.
Dead in my sin, I could not free
My life from hell’s domain.
But then You stepped into my path
With Son Who took my place.
On bloody cross You bore the wrath
And I’m just left with grace.

Abounding hope with Christ in me
Through Spirit’s power is come.
From sin and guilt I’ve been set free.
A life of hope’s begun.

God of All Hope, You raise me up
On disappointing days.
With depressed heart, my tears erupt—
Can’t I escape this pain?
But then You dry my every tear
And give my heart release.
My circumstance I need not fear.
Cuz God can give me peace.

Abounding hope with Christ in me
Through Spirit’s power is come.
From great despair I’ve been set free.
A life of hope I’ll run.

God of All Hope, You’ll come again
To resurrect the dead.
And even though I know not when
I know I need not dread.
For You will come to take me home—
What things I’ll soon enjoy!
And while on this cruel earth I’ll roam,
I’ll look for such a joy.

Abounding hope with Christ in me
Through Spirit’s power is come.
From death and pain I’ll be set free.
When life of hope is done.
