Mercy Plea

Keep Calm and Read a Modern Psalm based on Daniel 9:4-23:

O great and awesome God, our Lord,
Who keeps His covenant.
You give the mercy of Your Word
In each commandment.
We have all sinned and fallen in
To wickedness around.
We are so full of rebellion,
And by our lies we’re bound.

O Lord, please hear this prayer we bring,
O Lord, forgive our shame.
O Listen to our suffering,
And act for Your great name.

O God, we all have plugged our ears;
Your voice we have not heard.
And yet You are the God who hears,
For You confirm Your Word.
We’re faithful to unfaithfulness,
And on our face is shame.
You’re faithful to Your righteousness,
Through years and years the same.

O Lord, please hear this prayer we bring.
O Lord, forgive our shame.
O Listen to our suffering,
And act for Your great name.

O Wickedly we have all done,
From father to our son.
You gave the pain we knew would come
From sin to make us run.
We long Your truth to understand,
And see our pain be moved.
Come shine on us and make us stand
And call us greatly loved.

O Lord, please hear this prayer we bring,
O Lord, forgive our shame.
O Listen to our suffering,
And act for Your great name.

We plead with You, O God of grace,
Not for our righteousness.
For You have seen our fallen race,
So full of sinfulness.
Among these ruined men You’ve seen,
A Man who crossed the gap.
We plead because of His Mercy.
Our sin with Christ we swap.

O Lord, please hear this prayer we bring,
O Lord, forgive our shame.
O Listen to our suffering,
And act for Your great name.
